I mentioned in a previous post that the weeping cherry tree in my front yard was about ready to bloom. Well, it has and it's gorgeous! It looks like a puffy white pillow. I hope the blooms will last a week or two.
I also mentioned I thought the Christmas lights we left on it would be great with the white blooms at night. Well, I tried to take a picture of it, and you can see what I got below. I guess you'll have to take my word on it since the picture leaves something to be desired.
We had our third game night last night. Once again we had Eric and Michele. They are very competitive. In fact, Eric will lower himself to claiming people are cheating, just to get them off their game. He's not above making up outrageous stories about how his card is the obvious choice for the game Apples to Apples, either. Below you can see the gang (minus me, as you can see).
Here's our newbies to game night. I knew Dave and Jody when I was a teenager in Green Bay. Eric and Dave reconnected several years ago and he suggested we invite them to April's game night. Even though Eric claimed they were in "cahoots" with each other so that they could win at Apples to Apples, I don't really think so. I think that we would invite them back. Don and I found out they have lots of the same furniture that we do, including our new entertainment center - minus the TV stand in the middle (Dave, the TV stand in the middle DOES go with the rest of the cabinetry, I don't care what you think, Mr. Designer).
You'll recognize Eric and Michele below - I mean Eric and Ms. Scrabble Champion.
Here you get to see my dog Mellie getting in on the action (i.e. seeing if there is any food she can get her chompers on).
Third time's a charm! I finally won Apples to Apples! Well, almost. It ended up being a three way tie between Dave, Jody, and I at 19 cards a piece (we don't really play by the official rules). We had two delicious Easter chocolate rabbits for prizes, so a three way tie wouldn't work. We had a playoff that Jody and I took the top two places for. I think Dave and Jody will share the prize, so Dave wins, too.
Well, there you have it. Another successful game night. Can't wait for May's game night!
Jill
I love your little tree and you should definitely keep the lights on it, it's magical.
ReplyDeleteEric, if I ever meet you I'll be on the lookout for your "cut throat" Apples to Apples strategies. LOL
Right now I've got the jingle for the Klondike bar running through my head...What will you do for a chocolate bunny?
Love the tree pictures! Yes we need spring to come soon.... Once Sal is better I am hosting our groups next game night at my house. You guys look like you have been having a blast.
